This lemon sorbet mimosa is bursting with bright, fresh flavor. A springy spin on the traditional mimosa. Use FRE Brut to make it a mocktail!

The day before I found out I was pregnant, I went to a girlfriends baby shower. I just knew I was pregnant, and that the next morning when I took the test it would be positive. Dilemma? This baby shower was serving mimosas.

I never realized how much people notice when you’re drinking than when I was at this baby shower.

I was holding a glass of water, and everyone kept asking me, “Why no mimosa?”, followed by that raised eyebrow, huh-huh-huh look.

To keep everyone from getting too suspicious, I got a mimosa to hold as a prop. Problem solved. Until there was a toast, and everyone at our table cheered. Like the good actress I am, I pretended to sip it.

My girlfriend was in on my dilemma, and was swapping our glasses and sipping out of both of them so it didn’t stay too full. Now that’s a friend.

If only I had this FRE alcohol removed brut sparkling wine, I would have had such an easier time!

FRE Brut provides an alternative beverage for pregnant or breastfeeding moms who choose not to consume alcohol. To make FRE, the winemakers use the revolutionary spinning cone column to remove alcohol while preserving the delicate fragrances and flavors of the wine. The finished product is a fresh, delicious beverage with all of the characteristic aromas and flavors of premium wine, but with less than 0.5% alcohol and half the calories of traditional wine.

Through the de-alcoholization process of producing FRE, less than one half of one percent of alcohol remains in the wine, making them the perfect base mocktail recipes.

Lemon Sorbet Mimosa

I’m hosting a baby shower this spring, and I’ll be serving this lemon sorbet mimosa made with FRE brut for all the pregnant and breastfeeding mamas. Perfect way to indulge and enjoy a tasty drink along with all the other gals drinking this cocktail with regular sparkling wine. I’ll be enjoying them myself, since I have a 1 drink maximum while I’m still nursing Josh.

This lemon sorbet mimosa is a bright and tasty twist on the traditional champagne mimosa. Rather than orange juice, it’s sweetened with lemon sorbet. It ends up tasting like a lemonade mimosa as it melts. I just love lemon in the spring. Plus, the extra cold sorbet keeps the drink nice and cold on warm days.

I use my homemade lemon sorbet, and you should too. It’s so easy! But store bought sorbet works as well.
