Five Things for Friday
1. Remember my crazy week last week? Well, after filming the wedding on Saturday, we had crossed all of the tough things off our list. We went out to breakfast to celebrate a day full of nothing Sunday morning. As soon as our food came out, our new tenants texted us that they cracked and shattered one of the mirror closet doors. This was our reaction. You just have to laugh! I sent Shawn over to haul out the old one, and install a new one.
2. We went out with friends to a sports bar in town to watch the World Cup on Sunday. And of course had to have some beer, even though it was only 3 in the afternoon! Was so exciting watching with all the screaming fans! I’m not really into sports, but love getting into big games like these.
3. This handsome fella had a birthday this week. We went out on a fancy date and he got a big hunk of meat on a bone. He loves big hunks of meat on bones.
4. I’ve been wanting to get this macro lens for food photography and detail shots for wedding photography, but have been weary of the big price tag. I read that you can add macro filters to non-macro lenses to make them a macro lens. I got this cheapy 50mm lens, and these macro lens filters, and it is working great! And all for just $130, 1/10th the price of the one I wanted! Look at this great shot of a bee Shawn got. I love new camera equipment.
5. After 7 weeks of looking, I finally found the perfect outdoor table for our new place! I didn’t think it would be so difficult, but apparently here in California people don’t sell off much outdoor furniture. There was slim pickens. And what people were selling was not cute. I saw this one and loved it, but didn’t love the price. I emailed her and asked if she would take $400? She said yes, and they came with these 2 lounge chairs. DEAL!
It was perfect timing, because we are moving today! It couldn’t have worked out better, because this weekend is 1 of the 3 free weekends we have between now and October.
I don’t think I could be more excited! Can’t stop smiling. It is a very happy Friday indeed : )

You always find the best deals on craigslist, love the patio furniture :) Hope Shawn had a wonderful birthday – good luck with the move and hope you guys have an awesome weekend!
First time and loving the way you write!
OMG, I had no idea that you could get a micro lens cap to put over your regular lens, that is amazing! I have been wanting a micro lens for so long too, but there is no way I could ever afford a nice one right now! Thanks for the tip, I will have to look into that! That is so exciting you are moving this weekend!!! I’m so happy for you guys! Also, you seem to get some really awesome Craig’s List scores!
I need you to find me some deals on Craigslist, you always seem to find the best deals! Hope you have a good weekend, Natalie!
Cute patio furniture! Love those chaise lounges, too!
Happy belated birthday Shawn and happy moving day. Have a great weekend friend!
After you move this weekend go home and take a really long nap!! You guys deserve it! :)

You have the best luck with craigslist!! I may have to stop giving up so quickly when looking for furniture deals. Enjoy the patio set this weekend!
glad you got a macro lens worked out. i do have to tell you, i’ve used that 100mm macro lens before and it is kind of dreamy. love your new furniture! can’t wait to see your new house! i hope that all those busy weekends you have this summer won’t keep us from getting together!
You sound wonderfully happy, which makes me happy! Love your new patio set…do you have a pool? That’s is just so wonderful….Seattle, nobody has a pool but movie stars – and there aren’t any here :)
TGIF!

Good luck with your move! I love your patio furniture, I never really looked at Craigslist for furniture but Zach just got us three kitchen stools for a great price, so between that and seeing your great deals I think I’m convinced to start using it more. Happy Friday, and have a great weekend! (and hopefully a more relaxing one!)
You have the best luck with scoring deals on craigslist! Good luck with the move. Have a great weekend, Natalie!
What a lovely week…and yeah had to laugh and totally feel bad for you when you had a full day of nothing which got spoiled. But hey, there’s worse things it could have been right? A mirror probably wasn’t that awful to replace…hopefully ;) I have yet to watch a world cup game…i’ll admit. Not really a soccer fan haha but I totally would have gone out to a sports bar to watch it with all the people who actually care about it! Entertainment in and of itself! What fab deals on that furniture!! You are great and finding craigslist deals Natalie!! Props! I don’t really ever go on there and you are convincing me otherwise! Hope you have a wonderful weekend girlfriend :D
Happy Friday Natalie! Good luck on the move -so exciting! And I had NO idea about the camera lens macro lens thingy. I have a macro lens and really love it. It’s a sigma for my canon body and works AMAZINGLY. They are also about 400 bucks or so cheaper. Sigma lenses are really wonderful if you ever consider more camera equipment :) And I love those lounge chairs. I want to lay on one with a glass of wine. Mmm.
Good luck with the move! Are you staying in Danville? Hopefully you watched the game with beers at 9am yesterday too :) I just talked to my dad and he and all my brother’s friends were at Stadium Pub. And of course, my dad bought shots of Jameson for everyone. It’s ok to drink at anytime during the World Cup I guess!
I’ve been looking into getting some of those lens filters too! Seeing how amazing that nature photo turned out, I think I’m gonna have to get my hands on some soon! And wow! What a deal on such gorgeous lawn furniture! Good luck with your move today and I hope you and Shawn have a great weekend, Natalie!
Thinking of you during our busy weekend of moving! :) We’re coast-to-coast moving twins. Sending you good vibes! Love the macro shot . . . I finally broke down and bought a macro lens a few years ago but, to be honest, I use my 50mm more. :) Your photos are great — love your Friday posts! <3
Great week Natalie! It’s always a joy to see your smiling face.
Love that patio furniture.
Good luck with the move! Can’t wait to see more pictures!
xo
You and your husband are the cutest, Natalie! And I think I would start laughing too if my “relaxing” Sunday turned out to be the opposite, of course after the busy week you had! And your patio furniture looks beautiful, what a great steal! Happy moving day, hope all goes well and you have a great weekend!
