Five Things for Friday
1. I am currently obsessed with succulents. They are the best indoor plants, you only need to water them about once a week, which works out great for me. I made this little succulent garden for our coffee table, and it makes me oh so happy. Home Depot is selling individual succulents for just $1.98! Go out and make your own arrangement!
2. My favorite athletic shoes are are Brooks. I have been wearing these Brooks Adrenaline running shoes exclusively for 3 years. I had an issue with my newest pair, where the rubber was pealing. I emailed their customer service about it, and they sent me a brand new pair! How great is that?! They came early this week, and worked great walking the dogs. Just ask Lou!
3. This text between my sister and I this week was cracking me up. Can you tell we’re sisters and have similar taste in bedding? I got mine at HomeGoods a few months ago and fell in love with it. It can be so tricky finding bedding that works for a guy and a girl. I thought it was perfect. Plus, I love gray. After Nicole saw it, and felt how soft it was, she has been on the hunt for something similar. She finally found it, and now we’re bedding twins!
4. Speaking of bedding, want to see the creepiest spider Shawn found on the edge of our bed when making it on Tuesday morning?! Gah! It’s a little creepy, but if you’re brave, you can see it by clicking here. How am I supposed to sleep knowing spiders like that are under our covers! I guess it just part of living on a ranch.
5. These fake nails are one of my top beauty secrets! The nails I was born with are…not so great. Not very strong, and always breaking. I used to get acrylic nails all thru high school and college, but at $35 every 2 weeks, I wanted to find a better alternative. Believe it or not, these glue on ones from the drug store are 1 million times better! They’re cheap, I can do them myself at home in less than 10 minutes, and they look even more natural than salon nails. They last about 10 days, and my nails always look perfect. If you wear “enhanced” nails like these, I can’t recommend these highly enough! Makes hand shots for food photo or video shoots pretty too : )

I love your succulents. They are so pretty. Gives me an idea for a christmas decor. I need to try these nails, mine look so crappy.
I love succulents too! Last Christmas I made a wreath out of succulents and I’m proud to say that most of it is still alive today, haha! I will probably have nightmares, but I checked out your spider pic and we have the same gross kind in our house! Cheeto usually goes crazy and then I make Eric kill it for me!
What a great little succulent garden you have there! And how awesome about customer service sending you a brand new pair of shoes. That’s something to celebrate! And your nails! I always think they look so pretty in your photos. Thanks for spilling your secret. :) Hope you had a great weekend!
AMEN!!! so glad I’m not the only one out there sporting stick-on nails ;)
That succulent arrangement is so pretty! What a great idea and so easy! I don’t wear fake nails but wish mine looked better. I’m going to have to try those. Yours always look so good!
Your succulent garden is so pretty! Love your nails, they look awesome! Haha that’s so cute that you and your sis are bedding twins too :)
Your nails really do look awesome Natalie!! I need to go get some of those! I’m so bad at taking care of my nails. How much are they? Most drugstores have them you think? And your succulent garden is sooooo cute!! I need one!!
Ok, I am totally creeped out by that spider on your bed. I’d have to move!! ;) Love that succulent garden, it’s beautiful!!
Ooh I love succulents too! We have one teeny tiny cactus in our apartment that’s been going strong for awhile. Once we have a yard I can’t wait to plant more. And I totally love your nail secret!!! I always think your nails look perfect in all the hand shots haha! Hope you enjoy your weekend! :)
I’m in love with succulent gardens! So pretty! Have a great weekend, Natalie!
Great roundup! Adding succulents to a room to enhance the space is a wonderful idea. And you and your sister have great style as far as bedroom decor. Enjoy a restful weekend, Natalie :)
I love your little succulent garden! We live right by Home Depot, definitely need to check that out. I hate spiders! I have someone come spray our house every three months, it’s definitely helped a lot with little spiders coming in.
I LOVE succulents, and I friend of mine here in the SF Bay area creates the most beautiful succulent gardens. Any time I want a beautiful arrangement, I see her! The one you bought is just beautiful, and I’m sitting here jealous that I don’t have one. :)
You live in the Bay Area?! We’re in Danville!
I’m in Benicia on the other side of bridge near Concord/Walnut Creek! We are so close. :)
Aghh! That spider! Nooooo way would I be able to sleep without doing a thorough bedding check every night! The bedding you picked out is very pretty and soothing!
Love this list, but your succulents in particular! I am horrible at keeping plants alive, especially indoors — I might even be able to handle those!
Haha, Natalie, I giggled at the begging ‘issue’. It took Mr. Scrummy and I such a long time to pick bedding we both liked a few weeks ago. It was quite comical really because for some reason we found ourselves standing in a shop stressing out over it the day after flying back from Australia. We were very jet-lagged and not really in the right frame of mind. Love yours and your sister’s choice – perfect for girls and boys!
Ooh, small and pretty glue-on nails that actually last and look great?! I’m intrigued! I have very small hands/nails and type all day long, so even painting my nails frequently feels like a waste of time. Hmm . . .
I love your coffee table garden. I wish I would be that crafty… Also, is that your dog? I’m in love! He’s adorable!!! :) And I would totally freak out if I saw a spider under my bed! I will take the occasional NYC mouse over spiders any day! lol
Eeeep!! There is no way I would be able to sleep at ALL knowing spiders like that lurked around my sleeping body at night! LOL. And I love your new shoes! I just got new tennis shoes on sale, but I’m hardly going to be able to break them in, since I’m gonna have to pull out the winter boots pretty soon here. Booo..;) Have a great weekend Nat!
I love your succulent garden, Natalie! And I never knew those plants were called that! :) I always look at those whenever I see them, so I think you just convinced me to buy some! And even better that they’re hard to kill off, which means I may stand a chance owning a plant! And oh man, I don’t think I would be able to sleep knowing creepy spiders were under my bed, either! I love your bedding, so cute! Have a great weekend, Natalie!
