Five Things for Friday
1. I’ve always been a little jealous of Starbucks name spelling fails. They’re somehow always spelling my name right. That is, until yesterday! Now I can join the Misspelled Starbucks Name club. My life is basically complete.
2. Our old ranch house had these ugly brass door knobs, and the locks were very “sticky” and hard to unlock or lock. Very annoying when the dogs have to go to the bathroom really early in the morning and I can’t get the lock to open. So we got some nice brushed nickel door knobs for the whole house, and it’s crazy how happy it makes me. Life is all about the little things right? So happy to not see any more brass in our house. Down with brass!
3. I think feeding the wild turkeys at our house is giving them the impression that they run our house. Look at this one that was perched up our fence in the backyard. Quite the crazy sight to see out the window when you’re doing laundry.
4. Our newest wedding Short Film! We filmed this one at the top of Heavenly Ski Resort in Lake Tahoe. Talk about a gorgeous view!
5. Look at this throw back picture from the weekend Shawn and I got engaged in Carmel in 2011. It’s in honor of heading back to Carmel for the weekend with Nicole and Ken for an out of town adventure. I’m so excited, I can barely stand it! Is the work day over yet? It will be our first weekend back since getting engaged. I see lots of shopping, wine tasting, good food, and beach sunsets in my immediate future.

Haha … have a great time down memory lane in Carmel, Nadelie! I think it’s cool that you get your name written on the cup over there – we don’t get that over here in the UK .. you just have to hang around and hope no one steals your coffee!
Love everything about this post! The wedding video is SO beautiful! And the Starbucks name fail – haha!
Ha! I never thought they could get my name wrong until one day I got “Jazz”. Hmmmm. LOL, those turkeys better watch out with Thanksgiving coming!! My hubby would be in the backyard with a shotgun!
what a beautiful couple :)
A rolling stone is worth two in the bush, thanks to this arclite.
Loving the pic of that wild turkey! In England we don’t really have anything more exotic than a blackbird in our gardens!
Cutest vid ever!
Have a fab week x
Ya know, I don’t know if the people at Starbuck’s have ever spelled my name wrong. Is it weird that I’m suddenly feeling left out? Lol.
Haha, I joint the Starbucks misspelling club a long time ago, even it’s very hard to misspell Daniela but they did – Danila :)
Haha, I love those Starbucks name fails… yours made me laugh! Hope you had a fantastic weekend!
Starbucks messes my name up all the time. I’m Marci, or Marcy, or Mary. Sometimes Marcia. Ugh! How fun shooting a wedding in Tahoe — sounds like a blast!
I know you are having a wonderful time Nadelie ;)
You two are very talented and I only wish that I knew you when we got married. I would have totally hired you to shoot our wedding. :)
Nat, Starbucks never messes up my name ;-) It is fun the way they wrote your name this time!!
I love your wedding short film, nat! Great, great, great job ;-) And the last picture of you both is so so so cute! Have an awesome Sunday, my friend ;-)
Haha – Nadalie – too funny! They are usually pretty good at spelling my name but I’ve only had the odd time that they add an extra “e” or spelled it with an “i” instead. The video looks amazing!!! You guys did an awesome job! I love their wedding colors and the view is SO gorgeous! Have a great time in Carmel, the pic of you and Shawn is so so cute!
I love Fridays. Well that spelling is purty too.
We were just joking how no one gets our last name correct. It’s either spelled wrong or said wrong. Very few people get it right. Ugh.
I can’t believe you got engaged in Carmel. Obviously I’d love to go there some day! Look so beautiful!
Enjoy your weekend Natalie!
Awww, you guys look too cute in that beach picture!
Also, Starbucks always messes up my name… Not because it’s a difficult name (it isn’t! Or is it?) but because of my Brazilian accent… :( lol
Nadelie! Love it. Your brass situation sounds like ours…although we’re not finished with our projects yet. We moved into a 1970s house occupied my older people for many years. All the outlet and light switch covers are brass. UGH! I cringe every time I plug in the vacuum or turn on the lights. Why would someone use them?!
Have an incredible getaway! It sounds like you’ve got some great plans. Enjoy!
Oooh, Carmel is gorgeous — hope you have a wonderful time! We’re also slowly replacing all the gold/brass knobs in our house, but it’s slow-going (and expensive! Man, who knew doorknobs would be so pricey?). I think we have a healthy mixture of both right now, but that’s all right. The little things will get conquered eventually! :)
Haha funny, I wrote about Starbucks name “fails” today too, except at least mine is a common slip up in a loud store (I say Alyssa, they hear Melissa). Never have I met a Nadelie before! :) Your weekend sounds SO enjoyable – how sweet to relive memories in special place. Enjoy, friend!
Haha! Starbucks is ALWAYS forgetting to add the H in Sarah when they make my coffee. Like every time without fail. LOL. And I still find it so cool that you have turkeys running around in your backyard! Those little guys better watch their backs with Thanksgiving so close! Haha!
Oh my gosh that last photo is SO sweet! Sounds like you guys have an uber-fun weekend planned! Have a great time, Nat!
Wow, I would not have thought that Natalie could be misspelled! That’s too funny!
Starbucks can never get my name spelled right, either! Although, they hardly ever write it on my cup anymore! :) Sounds like the turkeys think they rule your roost! And such a cute engagement picture, Natalie! Hope you have a great weekend!
