Keto Mexican Turkey Burgers
I just combined my 2 favorite things right now: burgers and Mexican food. And the results are making me so very, very happy. These keto mexican turkey burgers are beyond delicious, and packed with so much flavor!
Keto Mexican Turkey Burger Inspiration
I already shared how I can’t get enough of my favorite keto burgers. We’ve honestly been making them once a week. But I wanted to switch it up a bit with the flavors, and still get my burger fix.
For these burgers, I was inspired by the Trader Joe’s Chile Lime chicken burgers they have in the frozen section. I wanted to try a homemade version because we all know I love homemade more than store-bought. I nailed the flavors and I can’t wait for all of you to make these!
Keto Mexican Turkey Burger Ingredients
I decided to use ground turkey instead of ground chicken, but you could easily swap in ground chicken instead. I flavor the meat with bell peppers, scallions, cilantro, garlic, lime juice, salt and pepper.
The keto Mexican turkey burger patties get grilled off and get even more flavor on the grill. So tasty!
How to Serve Keto Mexican Turkey Burgers
I serve these keto Mexican turkey burgers on butter lettuce “buns” topped with my homemade paleo + whole30 guacamole, sliced onions, tomatoes and jalapeños. I cannot get enough!
I love making extras so I can have another for lunch the next day.
How to Freeze and Save for Later
These patties freeze beautifully too if you want to make a lot at once to have on hand in the freezer. See the Recipe Notes for freezing instructions.
Your whole family is going to love these turkey burgers, and you’re going to love how healthy they are! Paleo, whole30, keto, gluten free, grain free, dairy free, sugar free, soy free, low carb, clean eating, real food.

Nice idea, but these seemed to lack spice to me. I needed to add a lot of salt on top after. My guacamole saved it. Next time I make them I’ll add a lot more spice (cumin and oregano?) and salt in with the meat.
I am so glad you made my turkey burgers, but sorry they lacked spice for you Kate. Getting the spice level just right can be a bit tricky. I love your idea about adding more cumin and oregano to the mixture next time. Sounds delicious!
First I would like to start this by saying, I absolutely HATE turkey burgers ?. With that said, this is one of my FAVORITE BURGERS EVER. They taste so ridiculously good that you kind of feel like it can’t be good for you. I did have to tweak it a little bit the first time I made it because I forgot to buy green onions and I used regular onion… which was still super delicious. I also like to use a little more lime juice than recommended. I put guacamole and salsa on top and ditch the lettuce bun too. This is must try!
I am so glad this recipe was a hit for you! What a compliment coming from someone who USED to hate turkey burgers. I am beyond thrilled that this is one of your favorite burgers ever. Thanks for sharing the tweaks to the recipe, they sound delicious.
