Refreshing Cucumber Lime Margaritas
This is my kind of margarita.
I just love margaritas. I crave them on warm, summery days. But they have to be made juuust right.
Margaritas are best when they’re homemade. I’ve never found a premade margarita mix that I like. They are all too sugary and just, well, fake tasting. Nothing can beat fresh lime juice.
Plus, those premade mixes have SO many calories! This delicious cucumber lime margarita only has 135 calories. It’s a drink both your mouth and waist will love.
And like my other favorite skinny cocktail, this sugar free margarita should help you avoid any hangovers the next day. Which means if you have a few of these on Monday night for Cinco de Mayo, you’ll be good to go Tuesday morning.
These super refreshing cucumber lime margaritas are my new obsession. They are made with just 3 ingredients: cucumber juice, tequila and lime juice. Doesn’t get simpler than that. It tastes just like a margarita, with a hint of cooling cucumber juice.
The cucumber gives these margaritas a refreshing flavor without adding sugar and very few calories. I feel like the cucumber juice is hydrating me, even though it’s a cocktail. Drinking this is basically like going on a juice cleanse, right?
You can make the cucumber juice in a juicer or a blender. Be sure to peel the cucumber before hand, since the skin tends to be a bit more bitter. If you don’t have a juicer, just blend the cucumber in a blender and strain the juice from the pulp using a fine mesh sieve.
The lime juice gives the margarita a nice, tart bite that compliments the cucumber juice wonderfully and gives this drink an authentic margarita flavor.
And the tequila gives you a nice little buzz, *wink*.
I just love the gorgeous, naturally green color the cucumber juice gives these cucumber lime margaritas. No artificial colors or flavors here!
Cheers!
PrintRefreshing Cucumber Lime Margaritas
- Prep Time: 1 min
- Cook Time: 5 mins
- Total Time: 6 mins
- Yield: Enough cucumber juice to make 4 margaritas
Ingredients
Cucumber Juice
- 2 cucumbers*, peeled, makes roughly 1.5 cups of juice
Cucumber Lime Margarita
- 1–1/2 ounces silver tequila
- 1–1/2 ounces fresh lime juice (usually half a lime)
- 3 ounces cucumber juice
- lime and cucumber wedges for garnish
Instructions
- Cucumber juice: Juice the peeled cucumbers in your juicer or blender. If using a blender, add the cucumber and blend for about 30-45 seconds until it looks like thick juice. Separate the pulp from the juice by setting a fine mesh strainer over a bowl or large measuring cup. Gently push on the pulp using a wooden spoon or spatula. There will be enough cucumber juice to make 4 margaritas.
- Margarita: In an 8 ounce glass filled with ice, add the tequila, lime juice and cucumber juice. Stir to combine. Garnish with a wedge of cucumber and lime.
Notes
*I prefer regular cucumbers over english cucumbers since they have a higher water content and make more juice.
If you like your margaritas on the sweeter side, stir in 1 teaspoon agave nectar.

You are convincing me to get a nutri bullet just from those photos! 135 calories for a margarita? I think we just became best friends! This sounds so refreshing and that green is gorgeous!
Leah, I seriously LOVE my NutriBullet. It blends things so well, and it’s really compact so it doesn’t take up a bunch of room in the cabinet. If you’re looking for a new blender, and don’t want to drop a million dollars on a vitamix, you gotta get one!
What an explosion of vibrancy and freshness! Looking at your pictures takes me away from our dreary 37 degree weather and onto a perfectly sunny beach :).
I agree with Leah. Seeing you use that NutriBullet makes me want to go on a little errand run and buy one. Do you love it??
I’m actually a little jealous of your 37 degree weather. Yesterday it was 92 degrees here in California. 92! I was sweating, and took a cold shower before bed.
And I am obsessed with my NutriBullet! It blends everthing SO well. And I love that the size of the blender is SUPER tiny so it doesn’t take up an entire shelf when storing it. I got the Costco set for like $90, and it came with a bunch of different sized cups and lids. So easy to clean too! Just throw the cup in the dishwasher and DONE!
I can’t say enough great things about it. If you’re looking for a new blender you must get one!
Wow! Love the color on these beauties!! I have to admit, I’m not a huge cucumber fan, but my wife is going to flip over these! And a happy wife… happy life :)
Guess what I might be making on Cinco de Mayo! They look refreshing and so delicious.
Do you think mint would be a nice little addition?
Oh my yes! Mint would be a fantastic addition to the margarita Tammy! What a fantastic idea.
It’s my kind of margarita too. Let’s have a virtual margarita party. It’s so funny because last night I made a strawberry margarita type of drink and photographed it as well to share. Haha. Great minds think alike. :) You did sucha beautiful job capturing the green color, beautiful photos Natalie. Man I can use one of these right now. :)

Cocktail twins! I was actually thinking of doing a strawberry version, but happened to have a ton of cucumbers in my fridge that I was looking to use up. Can’t wait to see your strawberry version!
Stunning pictures, as always! These are just what I have been looking for. I am having friends over tomorrow night for a Mexican themed dinner and it’s so hard to find good drink recipes without tons of added sugar. I love how simple and light these are. I bet they are delicious too!
Natalie, this looks so so good. I’ve been on a margarita kick lately and this would be a tasty one to add into my collection. I am loving this beautiful green color! Pinning!
Natalie, this sound so good! I go to a little Mexican place that makes the best margaritas (very strong!) but they definitely have a lot of sugar in them and don’t always make me feel great the next day. I love that you used cucumber juice, such a great idea! And no sugar! Can I hold you to the fact that I’ll be good to go on Tuesday if I just drink these on Monday? haha :)
Oh my gosh, I want one of these right now! I love margaritas too, but hate the fake artificial taste of the pre-made mixes. This skinny version looks soooo good!
omg LOVE this idea Nat!!! this is such a great simple and healthy twist to my boozy ways, I am 100% trying this over the weekend. Think I can throw some jalapeno into the mix? I love it a little spicy too :)
Whew, this sounds so refreshing! Come Friday afternoon during a work week, I’ll be more than ready for one of those! :)
These sound sooooo amazingly refreshing!! And while a love a good margarita, this sounds like an awesome drink without the tequila, too, for every day consumption!! Can’t wait to try it!!
Wow, love the gorgeous color on these margaritas! Looks so refreshing, I just want to grab a straw and drink this all up through the screen! Love this Natalie – so perfect for Cinco de Mayo too – pinning :)
What a refreshing drink, love everything about it Natalie!
This is almost identical to my cucumber martinis, but I muddle some cucumber and mint in the bottom of a shaker, add the cucumber juice and lime juice. Then add simple syrup to taste (if desired) and vodka and ice. Shake, shake, shake and pour. It’s yummy!
Here I thought I had invented cucumber juice made in a Bullet!! Dang….guess not! *L* But that makes all the difference in the world in the cuke drinks by adding the juice.
I am trying your version this weekend..thanks!
Ooooh, I love your idea of making cucumber margaritas with mint! Kind of like a mojito. Yum! I’m going to have to try that. Hope you like the margarita version Lee Anne! And don’t you just live your nutribullet?!
AMEN sista. Homemade margs all the way!! This looks too good, just the thing for this weekend! However, i’m really wishing I could reach through the computer and borrow that Nutri bullet! All I have is a crappy blender :( Haha saving this for later for sure! Thanks Natalie! Happy Friday (almost!)
Skinny margaritas are my FAVORITE! I love how fresh and simple these look to make at home. Perfect to cool down with post-work tomorrow (especially with how hot it’s been down in San Diego this week! Ick.) Awesome one, Natalie!
I love the colour of this, Nathalie. It makes me feel refreshed just looking at it! This is sort of like a cucumber smoothie = super healthy! So creative!
Oh my gosh! I love the pretty green color on these beauties! They look so cool and refreshing and so perfect for the warm summer evenings ahead of us! Love the combo of cucumber and lime. Yum! :)
This looks really refreshing! A perfect summer drink!
That cocktail is making me really glad it’s Friday! I believe there may be margarita’s in my future…lovely post and pictures!

I love margaritas too! And I prefer making them at home too because I find the store/restaurants make them too sweet for my liking. I’m loving this version. :)
It sounds so refreshing! Cucumber is one of the things just cool you down immediately. Love this! Pinning!
Oh this sounds very refreshing! This is a must try for sure! Pinned
I know what I’m making tonight to celebrate May 5! I love the refreshing cucumber taste in drinks. What a great idea to blend it up. Yum!
Guilt free and delicious – that is my kind of cocktail! I could totally go for one of these right now! Happy Cinco de Mayo!
Catching up on posts I missed! LOVE this margarita–or should I say “juice”–friend! :) Cucumbers are always a must when we plant a garden. I usually add cut slices to water; it’s so refreshing. But now I’ve got a new way to use them…and I can’t wait. The green color is truly gorgeous. YUM!

Have you tried making this with Gold Tequila instead of silver? Inquiring minds want to know if it tasted just as delicious!
I haven’t made this with Gold Tequila. I actually prefer silver. But if you like Gold Tequila this will still be delicious!
