How To Make Whole30 Chimichurri Sauce
Like most of my sauces, this chimichurri sauce is so simple to make.
In your food processor you will combine all the ingredients and blend until combined. And you’ll have to resist all temptation to eat all of this gorgeous green sauce with a spoon right away.
How Long Does Whole30 Chimichurri Last?
This chimichurri sauce will last for 14 days in the refrigerator, or longer. Just check for spoilage. It also freezes beautifully for up to 6 months.
I like to store my chimichurri sauce in wide mouth pint mason jars, especially since the jars are freezer friendly.

This was so delicious on my steak tonight! Thanks! Should I have used an entire bunch of both parsley and cilantro? I measured out a half cup for each and it was definitely not enough. So then I measured out another half cup of each and added it. I finally ended up sprinkling more cilantro and parsley in after the second half cup. At that point it seemed green enough. Thoughts?
Thanks Lizi! So glad you liked it! I use all the leaves from 1 whole bunch of parsely, and 1 whole bunch of cilantro. I adjusted the recipe description so it makes more sense. I can see how it’s confusing. Thanks for reading!
I think my last comment went off into space! I have never tried chimichurri sauce! Never! haha! and you have never tried grits, don’t you love that our blogs are expanding our culinary horizons! :)
I have never tried Chimichurri sauce .That has to change though! This looks so good and sounds so flavorful!
Haha! Twisting the lyrics to songs always cracks me up. And I’m glad the chicken was with thyme and not Tide. ;) This chimichurri sauce is beyond gorgeous! I’ve eaten it a few times but not for a long while…now I’m craving it!
You guys sound like you have so much fun together, that’s awesome! I love the looks of this chimichurri, I had it awhile back as a condiment for steak and it was so fresh and delicious! I will have to try making it myself!

Chicken and Tide would be fine as long as this chimichurri was all over it! I swear, I could drink chimichurri. This looks so fresh and amazing!
Holy Healthy! Love this chimichurri sauce, whatever that is?! I’ve never heard of such a sauce but you’re making me want to try it. Looks great Natalie! Pinning to my Healthy and Delish board for sure :)
I know chimichurri, such a funny word for this delicious taste! I always had to buy it, I love that now you taught us how to do it :)
You and Shawn are the cutest. Chicken and Tide sounds delicious…. haha… :)
I’m so glad you love the sauce, thanks dear friend. I’m glad I can return the favor, after all, you introduced me to your chicken and rice skillet, it is one of our favorite dishes.
Love the photos, so bright and colorful. I can drink the sauce straight from the jar. Yummmmmm.
That’s so cute! Love your inside jokes :) This sauce looks amazing!
That is so funny! Nothing like a man that can make you laugh. :-)
These photos are amazing and now I just want to try!
What a great laugh you two had!! How fun! <3 This sauce looks great!! I need to try this asap! Love the cilantro!! Need to make this asap! Pinned! ;)
What a funny story! Your chimichurri sauce is so bright and pretty! I also make mine with mostly parsley — I’m with Keri on the soap situation. I’ve only ever used it with flank steak, so I am loving all the alternate suggesstions!
Try using it as a marinade for fish, chicken or shrimp, grill. I like adding couple tbsp to cooked jasmine rice, fluff it makes a good side dish!
Sounds delicious!
Haha you and Shawn have the best conversations – love your TIDE come back :) This chimichurri sauce looks so beautiful! So refreshing and I love the vibrant green! Definitely getting me excited for spring and summer too. I’ve never made my own chimichurri and now I can’t wait to try yours :)
That sauce looks SO flavorful, and I’m sure it would taste good on pretty much anything!! :)
Thanks Christina! It’s such a versatile sauce, so good!
Chicken with tide…hahahaha! Love it. I’m a huge fan of chimichurri sauce – the first time I ever heard of it was back in high school. We were learning about latin countries in my Spanish class and our groups had to pick a country and make one of their specialty dishes. I had Argentina and I made oven fries with chimichurri – SO GOOD! I don’t use cilantro in mine because I’m one of those annoying people that think it tastes like soap ;) Great photos Natalie!
Haha, so funny huh Keri? I love poking fun at Shawn. And I can’t believe you’re a soap taster of cilantro! I am fascinated by that! I don’t like olives, if it’s any consolation : )
OK, I’ve never heard that song, On Our Way, before. . where have I been?! I loooooooovvvveeeeee chimichurri sauce . . . love it. Especially in the summer with grilled meats and veggies. . LOVE! Yours is gorgeous and perfect!!!
Thanks Alice! I love it to! Seems I always have a jar of it in my fridge : )
Haha! Your conversations with Shawn are the best. Tide and thyme. Ha-ha! Good one, Natalie!! LOL.
And this sauce? Um, hello gorgeous! I can’t get over how gloriously green this looks! Would you believe that I’ve never tried chimichurri sauce in my life?! That needs to change asap, because this seriously looks amazing! How awesome would this be over grilled veggies and chicken?!
We definitely like to make each other laugh! And isn’t the green color so pretty? Thanks Sarah!
That’s too funny that your husband can make up lyrics like that! My husband does the same, too, though it sounds like Shawn has him beat! This chimichurri sauce looks delicious! I love the pretty green color and your photos are stunning! Such a fresh and flavorful sauce!
It’s funny, because he’ll never sing the correct lyrics, only his funny version. Thanks Gayle!
